5 Secrets To The Perfect Cookie

Tips & tricks to achieve the most delicious cookies of your life!

What goes into this Recipe

  • Cream Cheese: Softened cream cheese forms the base of the dip, adding a rich, tangy flavor and creamy texture. Be sure to use full-fat cream cheese for the best taste and consistency.
  • Whipped Topping: A tub of whipped topping, such as Cool Whip, adds lightness and volume to the dip. It helps balance out the richness of the cream cheese and creates a mousse-like texture.
  • Powdered Sugar: Also known as confectioner’s sugar, powdered sugar sweetens the dip and helps thicken it slightly. Sift the sugar before adding to prevent lumps.

Fresh Fruit to Serve with Cheesecake Fruit Dip

You can serve this easy recipe with any of your favorite dippers! Here are some of my favorite summer fruits to serve with this easy dessert dip:

  • Strawberries – I love to add them whole with the stem area still attached.
  • Pineapple chunks – leave the outer skin of the pineapple on the chunk to hold onto when you dip.  Plus it is pretty on the tray.
  • Orange Slices – just peel and pull the segments of an orange apart.
  • Grapes – a combination of red and green grapes is always a nice touch.
  • Melon – any melon is delicious and they are nice because they hold up great when you dip.

How to Make this Easy Cream Cheese Fruit Dip Recipe

  1. Start by mixing together your softened cream cheese and powdered sugar.  I like to use an electric mixer for the job but you can do this step by hand.
  2. Once the cream cheese and powdered sugar are combined, smooth and creamy it is time to add an 8 ounce tub of Whipped Topping. I usually start mixing it with my hand held mixer and then finish folding it in by hand.  You don’t want to over mix at this point because the Whipped Topping is what is going to give it all of the volume. Over mixing can cause the Whipped Topping to deflate.  So be sure you are doing this step gently.

  1. That’s it!  You can always refrigerate your creamy cheesecake dip for a little while but this delicious dessert is ready to serve just how it is.
  2. I like to serve it with a fruit tray and a sprinkling of graham cracker crumbs.  I feel like the crumbs add a bit of texture and let people know it is cheesecake flavored since it reminds them of a graham cracker crust, but that step is totally optional.

Expert Tips

  • Use room temperature cream cheese. Be sure you are working with softened, room temperature cream cheese to ensure a smooth dip with no lumps. Let the cream cheese sit out for about 30 minutes before starting the recipe.
  • Sift the powdered sugar. To avoid any clumps in your dip, sift the powdered sugar through a fine mesh strainer before adding it to the cream cheese. This will help create a silky smooth texture.
  • Fold in the whipped topping gently. When adding the whipped topping, use a rubber spatula to fold it into the cream cheese mixture gently. Overmixing can cause the whipped topping to deflate, resulting in a less fluffy dip.
  • Chill before serving (optional). While you can serve this dip immediately, it tastes even better when chilled for about 30 minutes to an hour. This allows the flavors to meld and the texture to set up slightly.
  • Garnish with graham cracker crumbs. For a fun addition that enhances the cheesecake flavor, sprinkle some crushed graham cracker crumbs over the top of the cheesecake dip before serving.
  • Change the flavor. You can make this into a chocolate fruit dip by stirring some chocolate syrup into the dip, or make it a strawberry cheesecake dip by adding a dollop of strawberry jam.

Storage and Freezing

Store: Keep any leftover cheesecake fruit dip stored in an airtight container or covered tightly with plastic wrap in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Give it a good stir before serving again.

Freeze: Freezing this dip is not recommended, as the texture will change significantly and become grainy and separated once thawed. It’s best enjoyed freshly made.

Recipe FAQs

Can I use lower fat cream cheese?

While you can use reduced fat or Neufchatel cheese in this recipe, keep in mind that the dip won’t be quite as rich and creamy. Full-fat cream cheese will give you the best flavor and texture.

Can I make this dip ahead of time?

Absolutely! You can prepare this cheesecake fruit dip up to 1 day in advance and store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator until ready to serve. Give it a good stir before setting it out with the fruit.

What other fruits can I serve with this dip?

The options are endless! Some other delicious fruits that pair well with cheesecake dip include sliced kiwi, mango chunks, blueberries, raspberries, and even dried fruits like apricots or figs.

Can I use homemade whipped cream instead of whipped topping?

Yes, you can substitute an equal amount of homemade whipped cream for the whipped topping. Just keep in mind that homemade whipped cream is a bit less stable, so the dip may not hold up as long at room temperature.
