Today Practically Homemade is celebrating its 5th Birthday!! It is hard to believe that 5 years ago I started this crazy journey with the hope of nurturing it into a space filled with reliable and ridiculously delicious recipes. In the beginning I would have never dreamed that it would now be my full time job and have become one of my most treasured blessings. Thank you for trusting me and allowing me into your kitchen. I hope you will continue to come back week after week {year after year}, so that we can continue to make life sweet while also keeping it simple.
Most Popular Recipes on Practically Homemade
If there is one thing that has become evident in the last 5 years it is that there are a handful of recipes that people come back to again and again.
No matter what time of year or holiday we are celebrating, these recipes are always the most popular and for good reason. Each of them has something special and all of them are so easy to make.
Today I am sharing with you the 5 most popular recipes. If you haven’t made them…you need to! If you have made them…you can probably agree why they made the list.
1. Texas Sheet Cake Cookies
These cake mix Texas Sheet Cake Cookies are the recipe that single handedly took Practically Homemade to the next level. The cookies are decadent, soft and one that you could eat over and over again.
They are also double chocolate! So if you are a chocolate lover {like myself} then this recipe is a must make. Since publishing this original chocolate cookie I have also added a Peanut Butter, Lemon Poppyseed, Red Velvet, Oreo and Churro version but the chocolate is what people come back for.
So it was no surprise when I transformed this cookie into a bundt cake and it became popular. Both the Chocolate Sheet Cake Bundt Cake and Peanut Butter Sheet Cake Bundt Cake are in the top 15 recipes on my site. But who doesn’t love baking in a bundt pan?
2. Boston Cream Pie Cookie Bites
After seeing success with the sheet cake cookies, it took a while to find another recipe that became a huge hit and these Boston Cream Pie Cookie Bites were it!
Everyone loved this mini version of a classic favorite. They are so versatile and can be served for any occasion or holiday.
Once I knew that people loved the concept of cookie bites I continued to add new flavors. There is everything from Pecan Pie, Ice Cream Sundae, Black Forest and Snickers bars!
Of course I couldn’t stop there! I also added a Boston Cream Pie Poke Cake that is super amazing. Although readers keep going for the cookie cups that are baked with a mini muffin pan and use a tart shaper.
3. Pecan Upside Down Bundt Cake
When I created this Pecan Upside Down Bundt Cake I had no idea of the impact it would have on my readers. I quickly realized that pecans were your favorite too!
This Bundt cake is awesome because the pecans bake in the most perfect caramel mixture. So once the cake is inverted out of the bundt pan magic happens! The caramel candies the pecans and creates a sauce that filters over the top of the cake. It is perfect.
Once I knew that your love of pecans was as strong as mine I added Pecan Shortbread Bars, Pecan Sandies Truffles, Pecan Cobbler and Pecan Cream Pie with new pecan recipes always on the horizon.
4. Subway Raspberry Cheesecake Cookies
Cookies are my favorite food and so I am always excited when they become one of yours as well. Copycat cookies are especially awesome because you can create a cookie you love in the comfort of your own home.
In this case the Raspberry Cheesecake Cookie starts with a cake mix and ends with pockets of white chocolate chips and freeze dried raspberries but it is the cream cheese in the cookie dough that makes them so amazing!
If copycat cookies are what you are looking for then you can find many delicious ideas. There is a Lofthouse copycat recipe and many Crumbl copycat versions like Cookies & Cream, Salted Caramel, Raspberry Cheesecake and Key Lime Pie.
5. Tres Leches Cake with a Cake Mix
When I created this Tres Leches Cake I had no idea of how popular it would be. It was originally created as a Cinco de Mayo dessert and now gets views every single day of year.
Being able to make a Tres Leches Cake with super simple ingredients and still have it taste amazing is what has continued to help this recipe grow.
If you love the flavors of Cinco de Mayo you have to check out my Churro Bundt Cake, Churro Bars, Margarita No Bake Cheesecake and Piñata Cupcakes!
So there you have it! With over 550 recipes published on Practically Homemade, these are the 5 that are the most popular. As I continue to add more every single week I am always thinking about you and what you might love.
If there is a recipe you are wanting I would love to know! You can email me through my contact form on this site or message me on any form of social media. Thank you again and enjoy!
