I am the first to admit that dinner is hard!  Figuring out what to make night after night can be all-consuming.  Here’s the thing…it doesn’t have to be.  With simple and one-pans recipes like this Bacon Cheeseburger Pasta Skillet, I can get you in and out of the kitchen in under 30 minutes!

Dinner is intimidating for me for a couple of reasons.  First of all, there are so many steps into getting dinner on the table. You have to plan, shop, prep, cook and then clean up!

Honestly, if I could bake cookies all day and never make dinner that is exactly what I would do. I don’t have that luxury {and I am guessing that you don’t either}, so making a one pot skillet dinner is perfect.  This Bacon Cheeseburger Pasta Skillet is just what you are looking for.

How to Make Bacon Cheeseburger Pasta in One Skillet

  1. Begin by browning your hamburger in a large skillet.  I am using a 12 inch skillet with tall sides to be sure it will hold everything inside.
  2. While the burger is cooking, combine beef broth, water, steak seasoning, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup and cornstarch in a mixing bowl and whisk to combine. Once the burger is cooked through, pour the mixture into the pan and stir.  Bring the mixture to a boil.

Adding the pasta and covering the skillet to allow it to cook.
  1. The pasta will absorb most of the liquid and that is exactly what you want. Add all but one strip of bacon to the mixture and stir to combine.
  2. Finally, add the shredded cheese and cover until the cheese is totally melted.  This will take 2-3 minutes.

Recipe Tip

Use a ground beef that is 93% lean and save yourself the step of removing the grease during cooking.

Topping Ideas for Bacon Cheeseburger Pasta

What can make a Bacon Cheeseburger Pasta even better?  Toppings!  Anything you love on a burger goes.

I used a combination of shredded lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles and more cheese but don’t stop there. I love to pile everything right on top of the pasta in the skillet and serve it altogether.  Not only is it delicious but it is also easy and clean up is a breeze!

Storage

Leftover bacon cheeseburger skillet should be stored in the refrigerator in a good airtight container or wrapped tightly with plastic wrap. Store without toppings for best results.

  • cups beef broth
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon steak seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 Tablespoons ketchup
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded

Toppings

  • 1 cup lettuce, shredded
  • cup tomatoes, diced
  • ¼ onion, medium, diced
  • 6 mini kosher dill pickles, sliced

Instructions

  • Brown ground beef in a 12 inch skillet with tall sides. Remove any fat.
  • While the beef is browning, combine beef broth, water, steak seasoning, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup and cornstarch. Add mixture to the ground beef and stir to combine. Bring to a boil.
  • Once the mixture is boiling, add macaroni and stir. Cover and allow the macaroni to cook in the mixture for 8-9 minutes or until the macaroni is cooked through.
  • Remove lid and stir in all but one piece of sliced bacon {reserve the last piece for the toppings}. Top with cheese and cover until the cheese is completely melted {2-3 minutes}.
