The Sweetest Christmas
I had the best of intentions. I wanted to have two more new recipes for you this week. I had ideas, I had even tried {and failed at} one recipe but then my plans took a back seat and instead…I am bringing you a recipe roundup. I hope that you are all doing much better than I am in the Christmas planning department. I have gifts bought {and mostly wrapped} but we still don’t even know what we are doing for Christmas Eve?? It is Thursday sweet friends…we really need to get it together! Being married to my Darb is awesome but has really tested my “planner” personality. He is more of a…we can figure it out on Saturday night kind of guy and so I am trying to have a more “go with the flow” personality and the truth is…I am not very good at it.
If you are killing it and have your weekend planned and prepped then…GO YOU!! I am most certainly jealous. If you are like me and have two weeks of things to do and prepare in 4 days…then this post is for you {and most definitely…ME}!! Lets get to it…
I want to start with maybe my most favorite part of the holidays…cocktails!! These Cider Sangria Spritzers are perfect because they can be made the day before. They also have all of the delicious flavor that I crave this time of year.
Breakfast is just as important as dinner on Christmas and this Apple Cream Cheese Braid is so simple. Swap out the apple filling for strawberry or raspberry to get a holiday look.
I love a good appetizer. A holiday meal in my book always starts with one {or six} and these Mini Turkey Croissant Sliders with Cranberry Cream Cheese Spread are a must.
If you are looking for a show stopping appetizer than look no further than these Savory & Sweet Party Plates.
Lets face it…dessert is always where it is at or at least it is for me. I am all about the sweets and cookies are a great place to start. Cranberry Bliss Shortbread are my spin on Starbucks Cranberry Bliss Bars and they are so delish!
If super simple is what you are looking for then these Red Velvet Kiss Cookies are just what you need. They are made with a cake mix!
Sugar Cookies are so fun this time of year and my Cream Cheese Sugar Cookie recipe is {in my opinion} the very best!! Making this dough is on my “to do” list today!
The most wonderful thing about this dough is all of the different cookies you can make with it! These Stained Glass Cream Cheese Sugar Cookies look complicated but nothing could be further from the truth.
My favorite way to use it is making this Honey Nut Rugelach cookie. The pecan and caramel filling is so fabulous!
We can’t forget these Snowflake Linzer Cookies! The jam center is not only delicious but it gives this cookie such a finished look.
If you are feeling ambitious then this Glace’ Icing is the perfect finishing touch!
Christmas is never complete without some CHOCOLATE and these Peppermint Brownies are easy to pull together and the best flavor combination.
I think that this Black Bottom Bundt Cake is what I am going to make. It not only reminds me of my sweet aunt MeMe but it is also AMAZING!
Last but most certainly not least, Giant Dipped Marshmallows are not only great for your dessert table but would be a perfect hostess gift.
There you have it!! My ideas to help finish up our last minute {because apparently that is how we roll at my house} Christmas planning. I am wishing all of my readers the Sweetest Christmas EVER!! Next week I will be back with two of my favorite recipes to ring in 2018!
