The Cookbook: Practically Homemade Cookies & Bars
Last Friday was a BIG day. Not only was it Practically Homemade’s 7th blogging anniversary but it was also the official launch date of my first cookbook, Practically Homemade Cookies & Bars.
This cookbook has been 17 months in the making but honestly, it has been on my bucket list for nearly 20 years. Even before starting this food blog I dreamt of creating a cookbook. I always imagined it would be a simple book that I gave close family and friends as a gift. I never dreamed that I would have an audience of fellow food lovers that would want it too!
That is the wonderful thing about dreams {and bucket lists} because they have a way of becoming even more than you had a vision for.

Cake Mix Cookie Cookbook
The cookbook has 75 of my most beloved cookie and bar recipes. Each of the recipes start with a cake mix which some would assume to be a boring starting ingredient but that is where this book is different…every single recipe is a gourmet treat.
Long gone are the days of mediocre cake mix desserts. This cookbook is proving that they are anything but ordinary and I can’t wait for you to take a peek at every single page.
The chapters of the book are divided by the flavor of cake mix you have on hand. There are chocolate, vanilla, white, yellow and other cake mix sections with lots of recipes for each mix.
Flavor combinations that range from raspberry pistachio, creme brûlée, strawberry PopTart, cookie dough and cheesecake fill the pages. The color photos of each cookie show you exactly what to expect and if you don’t know where to start…be sure to check out my family favorite’s section. My four children have given you the recipes they would choose over and over again.
I hope you will grab a copy for yourself and for those you love because it would make a wonderful gift. My dream is that it will become a treasured book that is passed down to the next generation. Enjoy every page and every recipe!! I can’t wait to see what recipes you choose first.
Sweet Wishes!
