Most Popular Cookie Recipes of 2021
As we come to the end of another year I always find myself looking back at Practically Homemade. I want to know what all of you liked and think about what I want to bring more of as we head off into 2022. Cookies of course are always at the top of my priority list and so today we are dreaming of the Most Popular Cookie Recipes of 2021. I have to say…there are some good ones! So grab a cup of hot cocoa, sit back, relax and enjoy everything cookies.
It is hard to believe {ok…maybe not} but I posted 36 cookie recipes this last year! A few of them were oldies but goodies but for the most part all of the cookies were new creations.
Sometimes as I am making a cookie I am certain it will be popular cookie recipes, which isn’t the case and other times I am not certain. Only to have thousands of you love every single bite.
That is why I always like to have an array of flavors and recipes so that each of you can find something that you enjoy and hold dear to your cookie loving heart.

Most Popular Cookie Recipes of 2021
1. M&M Sheet Cake Cookies
It is not a surprise to me that the top cookies of 2021 are sheet cake cookies. Smother a soft cake mix cookie is a delicious frosting and who isn’t hooked?
This M&M version is extra special with mini M&M’s both in the dough and sprinkled on top of a chocolate cookie. Double yum!
2. Rocky Road Sheet Cake Cookies
Another day…another amazing sheet cake cookie. This one might just be my all-time favorite!
Packed with almonds and marshmallows, this chocolate Rocky Road cookie is also coated in a rich chocolate frosting. My friends on Facebook…they couldn’t get enough. I don’t blame them!
3. Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cake Mix Cookies
While this cookie is one that I republished it has to make the list because people went crazy for it during the fall months.
Who doesn’t love a super soft Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookie that is also super easy because it starts with a cake mix? I mean come on!
4. Easy Homemade Biscoff Cookies with a Cake Mix
Cookie butter became my very favorite ingredient in 2021! If you haven’t tried it…well…it is a MUST in the new year because it is life changing.
Added to this Cake Mix Cookie along with Biscoff cookies and white chocolate chips, there is not one thing to not love about this cookie!
5. Easy Cinnamon Roll Cookies
These Cinnamon Roll Cookies have been on my to-do list for years and now I wonder why I waited so long!
Starting with a cake mix makes them so easy to put together. That doesn’t mean that they are in anyway low quality however, these sweet babies are EVERYTHING!
6. Buckeye Brownie Cookies
This easy cookie recipe was one that I knew everyone would go crazy for because…peanut butter and chocolate = heaven!
The fact that the cookie starts with a brownie mix and ends with a buckeye truffle on top isn’t too bad either. 🙂
7. Cream Cheese Sugar Cookies
While this is another republished recipe, it is also the very best Sugar Cookie {in my opinion}. Making it with cream cheese adds the best flavor and texture.
Whether you are making them for the holidays or a random Wednesday, this sugar cookie recipe should always be in the top 10!
8. Chocolate Covered Strawberry Cookie Cups
What do you get when you combine a chocolate cookie cup with homemade strawberry frosting that is topped with a chocolate covered strawberry? Cookie perfection!
I love the easy elegance of these Chocolate & Strawberry Cookie Cups and so will you. Trust me on this one.
9. White Sheet Cake Cookies
Here we go with yet another sheet cake cookie. This version is simple in the very best way possible.
White Sheet Cake Cookies start with a cake mix and end with the most wonderfully delicious frosting on the planet.
10. Cake Mix Gingerbread Men
These sweet little Gingerbread Men were one of the last cookies of the year but that doesn’t mean they didn’t make a big impact.
Made with a cake mix, these holiday cookies are so awesome! The best part is that you can use the dough all year long to make other cookie cutters.
Now start your year off in a delicious way and make a batch of cookies today! Enjoy!
