Today’s post is so much fun!  For years I have wanted to create a cookbook for my kids and thanks to the Family Cookbook Project I have checked it off of my bucket list.  The very best news is that you can make one too.  It is so simple to do and honestly, one of the most fun and rewarding projects I have done in a while.  Being able to hand down this printed cookbook to my Tater’s and Tale’s {that is full of their favorite cookie recipes} has been so rewarding for me.  The Family Cookbook Project has made it so easy to do and I can’t wait for you to make one of your own.

For so long my recipes have either been online {the bonus of having a food blog} or stored on a loose piece of paper in a random drawer.

The kids would call me for a recipe and I find myself searching for it…but not anymore!

I feel such a strong connection to food and there is something so wonderful about having recipes that are handed down from generation to generation.

How to Create a Cookbook with Family Cookbook Project

To begin all you have to do is create an account and get started.

The program is so user friendly.  Adding a recipe only takes a couple of minutes.  You can type it in or even import it.

You can also decide whether you want to add photos to your recipes.  As a food blogger this was important to me but you don’t have to do this step.

I can guarantee that my kids will be transported to Grandma Pearl’s kitchen with or without a photo of her famous Chocolate Chip Cookies.

Family Cookbook Project also allows you to personalize your cover or choose one from the array of beautiful options that they already have inside of the program.

I used Canva to create my Cookie Cookbook Cover.

It also allows you to either use one of their dividers.

Or you can download a divider like I have done for my book.  Again, I used Canva to create it.

If creating a cookbook by yourself seems intimidating then join forces with family and friends.  Family Cookbook Project allows multiple contributors to add recipes to the same cookbook.

Once you have your recipes inputed into the program, it is a cinch to go back and edit anything.

I love this because inevitably I need to go back and make corrections.

You can also preview your book before you place your order.

I found this feature to be so helpful because then you know exactly how your cookbook will look when printed.

When everything is exactly how you are hoping, place your order and wait by the door.

Not only did the books get printed just how I had dreamed but they also came super quick.  I truly couldn’t be any happier.

So get all of your favorite recipes together and make a cookbook for your family and friends.

It is a gift that will be enjoyed every single time it is opened.  And who knows…it just might become a family heirloom that generations will enjoy…isn’t that SO cool!
