Watermelon Limeade
- 1 small watermelon {cubed}
- ¼ cup lime juice {about 4 limes}
- 4 ounces simple syrup {*see notes} or lime simple syrup
Watermelon Limeade Cocktail {pitcher}
- ½ cup lemon and lime soda
- ½ cup vodka
Watermelon Limeade
Put cubes of watermelon in blender with 2 ounces of simple syrup {equal parts of water & sugar-*see notes} and blend into a puree. Pour puree through a fine strainer and use the back of a spoon to push juice through.
Combine the watermelon mixture and simple syrup. Serve over ice with a garnish of watermelon or lime wedge, or both. Refrigerate leftovers, being sure to stir limeade if it has been sitting for a while because the watermelon juice will sink to the bottom of the pitcher.
Watermelon Limeade Cocktail
- *To make simple syrup: Combine 1/2 cup of water and 1/2 cup of sugar in a saucepan and bring to a boil; simmer until the sugar is dissolves {about 2 minutes}. Cool completely before using and store in refrigerator.
- To make Lime Simple Syrup.
- If you are making a cocktail and want to give it a spicy touch: Take a wedge of lime and run it around the edge of your glass. Dip the edge of the glass in Tajín and serve.
