Cake Mix Apple Cobbler Recipe

Fresh apples and a vanilla cake mix are combined to make a cobbler that will rival anything homemade.

Ingredients

  • 1 stick butter {but into 6-8 cubes}
  • 1 box vanilla cake mix {divided}
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 4-5 small Granny Smith Apples
  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°. Place cubes of butter into the bottom of a 9x13 baking dish and place in the oven until melted. Remove once melted and set aside.
  • Core, peel and thinnly slice apples. Place in a large bowl and add 1/4 cup of dry cake mix, brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg. Mix until well coated.
  • In another large bowl, whisk together the remaining dry cake mix and the milk.
  • Pour batter into baking dish and over melted butter.
  • Pour apple mixture over the batter {making sure to distribute them evenly}.
  • Bake for 40-45 minutes or until golden brown. Serve your cake mix apple cobbler warm or store at room temperature for up to 4 days.
