These Chocolate Kiss Cookies are made with the Sugar Cookie Hershey’s Kisses, which have a sugar cookie-flavored white creme and are filled with sugar cookie pieces!  They are absolutely amazing and are perfection in this chocolate cake mix cookie.

First of all…have you tried the new Sugar Cookie Kisses from Hershey’s?  If you haven’t then you seriously need to run {not walk} to the nearest store that carries them and purchase at least 2 bags.  One bag to eat right out of the packaging and one bag to use for these cute little Chocolate Kiss Cookies.

There are about a dozen things to love about these cookies.  First of all, the combination of chocolate with sugar cookie white creme kisses is fantastic. I love the hints of red and white in them…they are so perfect for Christmas just like my Hot Cocoa Peppermint Cookies.

You will also go crazy for the texture that you get from rolling the cookie in sugar and from the pieces of sugar cookie in the Hershey’s Kiss.

The cookie itself is made from a cake mix, so it is super simple to make and the texture of the cookie is almost brownie like in the middle. I love this shortcut ingredient so much, that I have a whole collection of chocolate cake mix cookie recipes!

These Chocolate Sugar Cookie Kiss Cookies disappeared in less than 24 hours at my house and so did the leftover Sugar Cookie Kisses and the Chocolate Peppermint Cookies I made at the same time!

How to make Chocolate Kiss Cookies with a Cake Mix

  1. Begin by making the dough.  Combine the cake mix, eggs and softened butter with a hand held mixer {or by hand} until you have a nice and thick dough. Then using a medium cookie scoop {or 1 1/2 tablespoons of dough}, scoop mounds of dough into a bowl with granulated sugar. Roll the cookie mound in the sugar to coat, trying to keep the nice shape from the scoop.
  2. Place the sugar coated cookie dough mounds onto a silicone mat {or parchment lined} baking sheet.  Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 9-11 minutes.

  1. While the cookies are baking unwrap all of the Hershey’s Kisses and get them ready for work.
  2. You will know the cookies are done when they start to crack and are set.  Be sure to not over bake them or they will become way too hard. Allow them to cool on the cookie sheet for 10 minutes.

Prepping the Hershey's Kisses and baking the chocolate cookies.
  1. After about 5 minutes, place one of the Sugar Cookie Kisses in the middle of each cookie and press down. You want to let the cookies cool completely on the baking sheet because if you rush this part the Kiss will melt and not keep it’s iconic shape.
  2. Once the cookies are completely cooled and the Hershey’s Kiss has set back up they are ready to eat.

They are just the right cookie for Christmas and because they are so easy they can be made last minute.

So no matter when you need a cookie, these Chocolate Sugar Cookie Kisses are perfection.

Could you use other kinds of Hershey’s Kisses on these Cookies?

YES!  There are so many awesome flavors now.  Especially during the holiday season.  Chocolate goes with almost anything but here are a few that would be awesome.

  • Holiday Hot Cocoa Kisses
  • Mint Truffles Kisses
  • Cherry Cordial Creme Kisses – These have a flavor similar to my Black Forest Cookie Cups!
  • Holiday Candy Cane Kisses
