We are a week away from Christmas and so I wanted to share this simple idea/recipe.  These little cuties don’t take much time to pull together.  Thankfully, because it seems like I always get down to the last few days before the holiday and I need a gift for someone.  Sometimes I just want to leave something sweet for a neighbor or maybe a last minute hostess gift but I find myself scrambling.  Giant Dipped Marshmallow Pops are the perfect gift and would also be fun on your dessert table.

The first thing you will need to do is put the sucker stick 3/4 of the way through the marshmallow {the stickiness from the inside of the marshmallow will hold it in place}.  I then melted the chocolate wafers in the microwave for about 30 seconds, or until they were smooth and completely melted.  Dip marshmallows one at a time into the melted chocolate and then turn them over onto a parchment lined baking sheet to dry.  Once completely dried I got the colored wafers in the microwave to melt.  I used a spoon to drag it back and forth over each marshmallow and then added seasonal sprinkles while the colors were still melted.  I let them dry in a cup.  Once completely dried I put a cupcake wrapper through the sucker stick and up onto the marshmallow.  Then it was just a matter of putting them in bags and adding ribbon.  So cute & so simple…you need them in your life!

    Ingredients

    • 20 giant marshmallows
    • 20 sucker sticks
    • 2 cups chocolate melting wafers or chocolate bark
    • 2 cups colored melting wafers
    • assorted sprinkles
    • 20 clear cellophane bags
    • ribbon
    • 20 cupcake liners

    Instructions

    • Push a sucker stick into each marshmallow, 3/4 of the way through.  Melt chocolate melting wafers or chocolate bark in a small bowl, working in 30 second increments, until smooth and completely melted.  Dip each marshmallow into the melted chocolate about half way up the marshmallow and place on a parchment lined baking sheet to dry.  Once dry, melt the colored wafers in the microwave {in the same way as we did the chocolate} and using a spoon, apply lines of color over the chocolate on each marshmallow.  While the colored melts are still wet, add desired sprinkles and dry in a cup until completely set.
    • To finish, cut a hole in the middle of each cupcake liner and put sucker stick through hole, pulling liner cup to the bottom of each marshmallow.  Serve as is or package with a cellophane bag and ribbon.  Store in airtight container.
