Banana Blondies with Cream Cheese Frosting

Wonderful and delicious banana blondies with a hint of cinnamon and topped with the perfect cream cheese frosting. A definite crowd pleaser!

  • 1/2 cup butter {melted}
  • 1 cup brown sugar {packed}
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup bananas {mashed} I used 1 banana

Cream Cheese Frosting

  • 2 oz cream cheese {softened}
  • 2 tbsp butter {softened}
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract


  1. Preheat oven to 350° and spray your 8x8 pan with non-stick spray, set aside.

  2. In a medium bowl combine the melted butter, brown sugar, vanilla and egg. Stir {by hand} until everything is nicely incorporated and you have a thick mixture.

  3. Add the cinnamon, salt, flour and mashed banana to the butter and brown sugar mixture. Mix {by hand} until all of the ingredients are incorporated. Pour batter into the prepared 8x8 baking pan.

  4. Bake for 18-22 minutes or until the edges of the blondies are slightly browned. The middle will be set but still look a little under cooked. Remove from the oven and let them cool.

  5. Once your banana blondies are cooled, combine the frosting ingredients and mix {I used a hand held mixer} until you have a smooth consistency. It will be thick for a few seconds but keep mixing and it will loosen up. Add frosting to the top of the banana blondies and spread out into an even layer.

  6. Cut your banana blondies into squares and serve. Keep covered at room temperature for up to 4 days or refrigerate covered for up to 5 days.
