Chocolate and Orange Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix {13.25 ounces}
  • cup all purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • cup butter {melted}
  • 2 Tablespoons sour cream
  • zest one orange
  • ½ cup mini chocolate chips
  • 14 Terry's Chocolate Orange Segments

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°.
  • Combine cake mix and flour  in a medium bowl, whisk {or sift} together. Add eggs, melted butter, sour cream and orange zest. Mix using a hand held {or stand} mixer until you have a thick dough. Add the mini chocolate chips to the cookie dough and mix until they are evenly distributed in the dough.
  • Use a large cookie scoop to measure out 12 cookies. Use your hands to press the cookie dough into a disc that is a thick round circle. Bake 6 cookies at a time. Place the cookie on a silicone mat {or parchment} lined baking sheet for 10-12 minutes or until set.
  • Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then add a chocolate orange segment and additional orange zest {if desired}.

Notes

Keep these chocolate and orange cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
