- 1 cup butter {softened}
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- 2 lg eggs
- 2 1/4 cups all purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup milk chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 325° and spray a 10" skillet {I prefer cast iron} with non-stick spray.
Cream together the softened butter, both sugars, eggs and vanilla. Mix until light in color and fluffy in texture. It will take about 3 minutes.
Add flour, baking soda and salt. Mix to just combine and then stir in both kinds of chocolate chips.
Put all of the cookie dough into your prepared skillet and spread into an even layer. Bake for 25-30 minutes {ovens vary} or until it is golden brown and the middle is set but still slightly gooey. Remove from oven, top with vanilla ice cream and serve family style.
- If the cookie seems to be getting too brown during baking, cover with foil for the last part of baking.
