Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter {softened}
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 2 lg eggs
  • 2 1/4 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup milk chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 325° and spray a 10" skillet {I prefer cast iron} with non-stick spray.
  • Cream together the softened butter, both sugars, eggs and vanilla. Mix until light in color and fluffy in texture. It will take about 3 minutes.
  • Add flour, baking soda and salt. Mix to just combine and then stir in both kinds of chocolate chips.
  • Put all of the cookie dough into your prepared skillet and spread into an even layer. Bake for 25-30 minutes {ovens vary} or until it is golden brown and the middle is set but still slightly gooey. Remove from oven, top with vanilla ice cream and serve family style.

Notes

  • If the cookie seems to be getting too brown during baking, cover with foil for the last part of baking.
