Prep Time 5 minutes
Cook Time 40 minutes
Total Time 45 minutes

  • 1-15.25 oz. box chocolate cake mix {I like chocolate fudge}
  • 2 eggs {whisked}
  • cup vegetable oil
  • cup mini M&M candies

  • ½ cup butter
  • 2 tbsp cocoa
  • 3 tbsp milk {I used 1%}
  • 2 ½ cups powdered sugar

  • ¼ cup mini M&M candies

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Combine cookie ingredients in large bowl and mix until completely incorporated.  I like to use a hand held mixer but stirring the ingredients by hand works too. NOTE:  Dough will be thick.

  3. Add mini M&M's to the dough and stir in with spoon until they are evenly incorporated.

  4. Using a medium sized cookie scoop {or heaping tablespoon}, scoop cookies onto a silicone {or parchment} lined cookie sheet.

  5. Bake for 9-11 minutes, remove from oven and let cool on cookie sheet for at least 5 minutes before moving them to a cooling rack.  Repeat until all of the dough is baked.

  1. Combine the butter, cocoa and milk in a medium saucepan over medium heat and whisk until the butter has melted.  Remove from the heat, add powdered sugar and whisk until smooth.

  2. Spoon a heaping teaspoon of frosting over each of the cookies.  Use the back of the spoon to spread the frosting out. Sprinkle the top of each cookie with a few additional mini M&M candies before frosting has set up. NOTE: Working on one or two cookies at a time works best.

  3. Let frosting set and serve.  Keep your sheet cake cookies in an air tight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
