Servings: 6 people
- 1.5 lbs. ground beef {I used 93% lean}
- 8 oz. macaroni pasta
- 6 slices bacon {cooked}
- 1 1/2 cups beef broth
- 2 cups water
- 1 tsp steak seasoning
- 1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 3 tbsp ketchup
- 2 tsp cornstarch
- 1 cup cheddar cheese {shredded}
- 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese {shredded}
Toppings
- 1 cup lettuce {shredded}
- 1/3 cup tomatoes {diced}
- 1/4 medium onion {diced}
- 6 mini kosher dill pickles {sliced}
Brown ground beef in a 12 inch skillet with tall sides. Remove any fat.
While the beef is browning, combine beef broth, water, steak seasoning, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup and cornstarch. Add mixture to the ground beef and stir to combine. Bring to a boil.
Once the mixture is boiling, add macaroni and stir. Cover and allow the macaroni to cook in the mixture for 8-9 minutes or until the macaroni is cooked through.
Remove lid and stir in all but one piece of sliced bacon {reserve the last piece for the toppings}. Top with cheese and cover until the cheese is completely melted {2-3 minutes}.
To serve, add toppings {including last piece of bacon} to the top of the skillet dinner. Refrigerate leftovers without toppings for up to 4 days.
