  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/4 onion {finely minced}
  • 2 cloves garlic {minced}
  • 12 oz. sausage {in casing and sliced}-I used Italian
  • 1 small head broccoli {cut into small florets}
  • 9 oz. frozen or fresh tortellini
  • 3/4 cup chicken broth
  • 15 oz. Alfredo sauce
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese {grated}
  • Fresh Basil for garnish-optional

  1. Heat oil over medium heat, add onion and cook until translucent. Add garlic and sausage and cook until the sausage is browned, being sure to stir so that the garlic does not burn.

  2. Add chicken broth and scrape bottom of pan to release any bits of flavor. Add broccoli florets. Followed by tortellini and Alfredo sauce. Stir ingredients together and bring mixture to a boil. Once it is boiling, reduce heat to simmer and cover with lid. Cook for an additional 7 minutes.

  3. After 7 minutes remove lid, add salt, pepper and Parmesan cheese. Serve warm from skillet. Garnish with fresh basil if desired and enjoy. Refrigerate leftovers for up to 3 days.
