Pepperoni Pizza Chicken Skillet Recipe

- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- ½ teaspoon kosher salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 4 chicken breasts {thinly sliced}
- 2 Tablespoons olive oil
- 21 ounces pasta sauce
- 16 slices pepperoni
- 4 slices mozzarella cheese
- 5-6 leaves fresh basil
- 1 pound pasta {cooked}
Combine spices in a small bowl and evenly coat the outside of each chicken breast.
Warm large skillet over medium high heat, add olive oil. Once the oil is warm, add the chicken breasts to the skillet and cook on the first side for 3-4 minutes or until browned. After 3-4 minutes turn the chicken over and continue to cook for 3-4 minutes.
After 3-4 minutes, turn heat down to medium low and add sauce. Cover with a lid and cook for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes turn heat to low and add a slice of cheese and four slices of pepperoni to each chicken breast. Cover again and continue to cook until the cheese is completely melted and the chicken is cooked through.
Serve each chicken breast over cooked pasta with a sprinkle of fresh basil. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
