Golden Oreo No Bake Cheesecake

We have established that Golden Oreos are one of my Darb’s favorite foods.  In fact before we got married it was one of the things he always ate.  He would religiously take a turkey sandwich, Doritos chips and Golden Oreos in his lunch every.single.day.

Anytime I use them in a dessert I know that it will be a winner at my house but I have to admit that this recipe exceeded my expectations.

There are so many things to love about this Golden Oreo dessert but the fact that I can have it ready in 15 minutes ranks right up there.  What could be better than that?

My Darb would say the buttery Golden Oreo crust, silky smooth filling loaded with more Oreos and the whipped cream topping.

  • Golden Oreos-Lots of them!  Used in the crust, filling and the topping, this cheesecake is loaded with Golden Oreos.
  • Butter-Added to the Golden Oreo crumbs to bind them together in the crust and add great flavor.
  • Cream Cheese-The perfect starting point for any no bake cheesecake.
  • Sweetened Condensed Milk-This thick and sweet canned milk is a wonderful addition to the filling.
  • Whipped Topping-Added to the filling for body and a little extra sweetness.  It can also be added on top to make it look awesome.

How to make a Golden Oreo No Bake Cheesecake

Golden Oreo Crust

  1. Add Golden Oreos to a food processor.  If you don’t have a food processor, add the cookies to a large zipper bag and crush using a rolling pin.
  2. Pulse the Golden Oreo cookies until you have fine crumbs.
  3. Add the cookie crumbs to a bowl with melted butter and mix until all of the cookies are coated.
  4. Pour the butter coated Golden Oreo cookie crumbs into a springform pan that has been lightly greased and press them down firmly.  Place the crust in the refrigerator while you work on the filling.

Golden Oreo Cheesecake Filling

  1. Add the softened cream cheese to your bowl and use a hand held {or stand} mixer to break the cream cheese up and make it smooth.  Add the sweetened condensed milk. Using the hand held {or stand mixer}, combine the cream cheese and sweetened condensed milk until smooth.  This step is super important because if you don’t get the cream cheese creamy now, any lumps will remain in your cheesecake batter.
  2. Add the whipped topping to the cream cheese mixture.  Fold the topping into the cream cheese mixture gently with a spatula.  It might take a minute or two but we don’t want to mix it in too fast or it will deflate.
  3. Add the crushed Oreos to the cream cheese filling and stir gently until the cookies are evenly distributed into the batter.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared crust and spread out into an even layer.
  5. Allow the cheesecake to chill in the refrigerator for 2-4 hours before serving.

Finishing your Golden Oreo No Bake Cheesecake

While this Easy Golden Oreo No Bake Cheesecake is perfectly fine just how it is, you can finish it with a few super easy steps.

Once you have removed the outside ring, add additional whipped topping to a piping bag {or zipper bag} and pipe around the edge of the cheesecake.  Then go back and add additional whole Golden Oreos and extra crumbs.

The end result is super gorgeous and also easy, so I highly suggest taking an extra minute or two to finish the dessert this way.

4 Top Tips for the Perfect No Bake Cheesecake:

  1.  Use full fat cream cheese.  Full fat cream cheese has a lower water content than the lower fat varieties.  This helps your cheesecake stay together better and slice cleanly.
  2. Combine the cream cheese and sweetened condensed milk before adding whipped topping.  Mixing together the room temperature cream cheese and sweetened condensed milk allows for you to get a really smooth texture before adding the whipped topping.  Sometimes adding the chilled whipped topping will make the cream cheese have lumps which are nearly impossible to remove.
  3. Don’t over mix the filling once you add the whipped topping.  The whipped topping adds some volume to the filling.  If you over mix it then you will lose that.  Mixing it in by hand will help eliminate this problem.
  4. Be sure to refrigerate for a firmer cheesecake.  This No Bake Cheesecake can be served immediately but will set up and serve better if refrigerated for 2-4 hours.

Does this No Bake Cheesecake need to be Frozen?

No, this No Bake Golden Oreo Cheesecake does not need to be frozen. Refrigeration is all that it needs.

It can be frozen however, if you prefer more of a frozen texture to your cheesecake.  It can be a nice change to a traditional no bake cheesecake when you freeze it and then serve.
