When my Tales sees this recipe I am going to be in big trouble!  The combination of peanut butter and chocolate is one of her all time favorites and she didn’t get a piece of this No Bake Peanut Butter Pie.

I know that Thanksgiving is over a month away but it is NEVER to early to plan.  Especially when it comes to dessert.

The thing about Thanksgiving is that most of us already know the basic menu…turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing and cranberry sauce.  Dessert is where you can really change things up and this No Bake Peanut Butter Pie Recipe is a great place to start.

The filling is only 4 ingredients which is awesome.  But don’t let the lack of ingredients fool you because it is BIG on flavor.

How to make No Bake Peanut Butter Pie Filling

To make the filling, start by mixing together the cream cheese and peanut butter.  I like to use a hand held mixer.

At this point the mixture is pretty thick and will remind you of cookie dough.  Add the powdered sugar and mix again.

Finally add the tub of Cool Whip and mix one more time.  You want all of the ingredients to be combined well.  I like to use a spatula to mix at the very end.

I like to use a store bought Oreo crust but you could absolutely make a homemade Oreo crust.

Pour the peanut butter filling into the crust and spread it out evenly.  Then top with 1/2 of a tub of Cool Whip.

Does the Peanut Butter Pie need to be refrigerated?

At this point you can add the toppings and refrigerate the pie.  This Peanut Butter Pie needs to be refrigerated to set up nicely.  I like to refrigerate it for at least 2 hours before cutting it.

It is also important to refrigerate it because the cream cheese and Cool Whip require refrigeration.

I love to use a combination of ingredients for the topping.  This time I chopped Reese’s Pieces and peanut butter chips.  Then topped the pie evenly with them but peanut butter cups would be awesome too.

Don’t forget to save the plastic liner that comes with the store bought crust.  It works great as a lid for your pie when you turn it over.
