5 Secrets To The Perfect Cookie

How to make Donuts with Pancake Mix

Combine pancake mix with brown sugar and whisk to remove any lumps.  Whisking {or even sifting} is super important because pancake mix can have huge lumps and if you don’t get rid of them at this point it is nearly impossible.

In a separate bowl combine milk, egg and melted butter.  Whisk the ingredients together and add them all at once to the pancake mix.

Stir the ingredients together until you have a nice batter.  Put the batter into a large Ziploc bag and cut the corner off of one end.

Pipe or spoon the batter into your prepared donut pans.  The pans are nonstick but I make sure to spray them liberally.

Be sure to not fill them too full because the batter will rise as it bakes.

I have made the mistake of filling them too full before and you end up with more of a muffin because the donut hole disappears.

Bake the donuts in a 350 degree oven for 10-13 minutes.  Be sure to not over bake the donuts or they will be too dry.  The best way to tell they are done is to press down on the donut and when it bounces back they are ready.

Allow the donuts to cool in the pan for a few minutes.  While that happens, chop the cooked bacon into thin strips.

Whisk until everything is smooth.  Make sure the mixture is thick enough to stick to the donut but thin enough to be able to dunk.

You can thin the glaze with additional milk or thicken it with additional powdered sugar.
