You guys my dad had it rough.  He is a father to 3 girls.  Can you imagine that?  Let me just tell you that there were times that I am sure he wanted to run for the hills and now that I think about it…he did.

The hills {Yocum Valley to be exact} are his happy place.  In fact, one of the things I remember doing with my dad is going to the mountains.  Surely my mom needed the break.

We would stop by the little store about a mile from our house and grab the staples.  A loaf of white bread, can of Spam, bag of chips and soda.  The best part is that he cut the Spam with his pocket knife and we loved every single moment.

Dads really are the best!  The bond between a dad and their daughter is so special.

How to Make an Easy Whiskey Glaze Recipe that is Perfect for Grilling

When I say that this recipe is easy I am not exaggerating.  Literally 6 ingredients and less than 10 minutes is all you need to make this awesome glaze.

Begin by mixing together all of the ingredients except the whiskey {ketchup, soy sauce, brown sugar, Dijon mustard and Worcestershire sauce}.  Set it aside.

In a small sauce pan over medium-high heat bring the whiskey {I used Jack Daniels but you can use whatever you have on hand} to a boil and let it boil for about 30 seconds.  This will evaporate most of the alcohol out.

The truth is that it might not eliminate all of the alcohol.  So, if you are worried about alcohol or are serving this to kids you might want to keep that in mind.  Boiling it however, will help.

Once you have boiled the whiskey for 30 seconds add the ketchup mixture {that you set aside} and combine.  Bring it to a boil and then turn the heat down to low.

Let the glaze cook over low heat {stir occasionally} for about 5 minutes or until it has thickened slightly.  Remember it is a glaze, so it won’t be as thick as a bbq sauce.
